death counts: how many had died for IRs?

If you are smart, no amount of influence will make you do foolish things. On the other hand, if you are dumb and idiotic, no amount of advice will make you do the right things.

explain that to the rich fat guy who lost 26M. if each million lost is worth a soul, then 26 singaporeans would have been sacrifced foolishly.

does our gov really care or give a damn?

i tot i could control my gambling. i tot i could win. i tot i just play play only. in the end, i m now in deep shit saddled with non-ending credit cards debts. 500K shall definitely solve all my problems by the way.

Re: death counts: how many had died for IRs?...STILL COUNTING

just look at this report. the heartlanders shall still go with or without free bus shuttle services. the comment is even more interesting. come to think of it, how many have lost miserably in jackpot machines in clubs operated by gov and ntuc, e.g SAFRA, NTUC and what about those in country or private clubs?

why does the gov allow such vice to proliferate?

'Sending free buses to the heartlands is like casting a fishing net - when hauled, the catch, among hundreds of flapping little kuning fish, are a few super-size garoupers. These one or two prized catch each time is well worth the cost of the free shuttles.' - Misnomer, who disapproves of the free shuttle services.

'This question has not been answered: Why did CRA or the Government take three months to take notice and order the IRs to stop the shuttle service?' - Thelegarm

'We are the only nation in this planet that rejects a free bus ride for the citizens because the government fear the citizens cannot think. It is very frustrating to have a government that micromanage and yet want Spore to stop complaining.' - Hanweiwei

'They are "breaching the rules" becos they're fighting for "market share". If there's only one casino in the country, this will not happen. Genting Malaysia doesn't provides free bus rides to their resort.' - Melvinchanko

'Casino losers will at least lose less. They will save transport cost if there is free shuttle service. So let us "cut loss" for the gamblers.' - Murali_Sharma

'Food and free drinks don't do much to entice people to the casinos. At most, you attract the greedy to go for the food and then leave without gambling. The addicted go there regardless of the perks, and the rich billionaire gamblers probably won't mind spending even $100 on food. Ultimately, it's how often gamblers could win in those casinos that attract people there.' - GhostRider666

THE government halted bus shuttle service to the two Integrated Resorts (IRs) week before last to discourage locals from gambling.

But this may not discourage Singaporeans from visiting the casinos, going by an an online poll by straitstimes.com.

Of the 202 readers who took the poll, 82 per cent responded 'Yes' to the question: 'Would you still visit the casinos at the two integrated resorts even though they have stopped providing the shuttle bus services?'

Only 18 per cent said 'No'.

One reason, as suggested by forum user sandstone1, could be that 'forbidden fruit tastes sweeter. More restrictions on local patronage, the more likely it will increase.'

There have been more than one million visits by Singapore resident to the two casinos since Resorts World Sentosa and Marina Bay Sands opened earlier this year.

MBS offered a paid premium service at 12 pick-up points covering the Central Business and Orchard areas.

RWS provided free shuttle bus ervices at 19-pick-up points, most of which were in the heartlands and the CBD areas.

Need to stop the heartlanders from going to the casinos as the jackpots machines operated by NTUC in the Heartlands are losing their revenue to the casinos. Perhaps, it is time to close down all jackpot machines operated by NTUC and Clubs in the heartlands if we are serious and honest about the gambling issues.

Dumb fuck will always find excuses for their stupidity. The wise one will take responsibility and learn from it not to repeat it ever again.

Seriously, only an idiot will think he can make money in a Casino. Casino operator has all the odds in their favour. If you go to a Casino, you are bound to loss. If you end up winning, consider that lucky and luck has no place in Casino over a long period.

Anyone going to Casino thinking he will make some money ought to get his head chop off for not using his brain.

Closing down Casino do not make these people any wiser. All it does is prolong their stupidity. If he had this kind of gambling mindset, you don't need a Casino for him to go broke, Stocks market, Toto, 4D, Futures, Forex, etc... will be there for him. So what are you to do? Close all these business down just because that idiot don't know how to think? Who is the bigger idiot here? The rest will be the judge.

People who buys into the get-rich-quick scheme without wanting to work hard will always make foolish choices. Be it MLM scheme, Ponsi scheme investment, etc. So are you going to baby sit all these dumb fucks all their lives and banning whatever bad choices they're going to make? What gives you the authority over them?

sgppools advertised the betting centres where jackpots are won. if they can do that, why can't the IRs. their jackpots are many times bigger.

At RWS, there is plenty of people gambling at the tables and jackpot machines. Quite a number of them are Singaporeans, RWS was correct to hire the buses to go over to the heartland to bring in the crowds. It has been less then 1 year since RWS opened, perhaps, people still got money to lose, but there comes a point where most of them are broke, you will see social problems coming on, the way I look at it, it is just a matter of time, before this happens.

I do not expect tourist/foreigners to contribute much to the revenue of both the Casinos.

When I go to Casino, I had already decided that I am going to loss money and decided how much I want to lose. To me, Casino is just an entertainment outlet or a playground and not a place to make money. With that in mind, I don't expect to ever make a win. If I ended up making some winnings, I won't be jumping with joy as I know I will loss it the next time I visit there, if I visit there again. Did I go to Casino before? Yes, when I was in Australia and also when I go to Genting in Malaysia. I have not and probably will not visit the Singapore one as I don't believe in losing $100 before I get to play the games.

If you really want to make money from Casino, be a shareholder. Even then, you have to do your homework and know which price level to go in and not buy at the high price. I bought Genting shares when it was still at 60cents and now it has done more than doubled.

Hence, only idiots will think that they can make money by playing in Casinos. It's about time these idiots learn to make wise choices for themselves.

The only winners at casinoes are people who use it to entertain business clients to snag the deal, or social escorts who use it to get fat business.

the overall winner is our gov who are paid millions just to come up with such lame excuses for approving not 1 but 2 casinoes and the double the death rates of sgporeans.

how many have fallen dead casualties since its opening? someone should do a dead head counts. how many families are adversely affected and are suffering in undue silence?

There are many more dying from cancer because of smoking and secondhand smoking, why not ban cigarette like they ban drugs?

There are many more dying from heart attack because of unhealthy food, over-eating and unhealthy life style, why not ban overeating, ban fats in food, ban unhealthy life style and anyone not exercising get to jail.

There are many more dying from road accident, why not ban cars? No cars, no accidents, no death, no unhappy family because someone died from accidents.

The list goes on.
