SAF is one of the best armies around. Despite being situated in the middle of a volatile region, have two potentially hostile neighbours, SAF has managed to keep the peace for the past 4 decades with very little loss of life or limb from its soldiers.

"Little loss of life or limbs"....is a blatant lie, I got a feeling, you have not served National Slavery....I can count, the number of the guys with me from recruit days up to reservists had DIED during training....how about that poster boy Navy Jason...what did he loose? his pants!..please try to lie, properly!!.

Whether we have the best armed forces in this region is YET TO BE TESTED, Yes!, on paper, we have an impressive array of weapons etc...but we are BLESSED, that we do not have battles fought in & around the country..BLESSED !

But, with the training I received in the ______!!, & the numerous cockups, I cannot count on a small patrol of 6 trainee Officers ( OCS), with tertiary education, with a MAP ( no GPS, back then), on a small night patrol, getting LOST on Tekong.... I shudder! what I read your "best armies"....

Yes...be resolute and protect yourself and your loved ones. I will related my real life experience with SAF when my son was conscripted .

He called me and told me that his platoon sergeant made him to carry two jelly can of water when he has already informed the Medical officer that he suffered from back injuries.

I immediately spend the next few hours hunting down the MO and the CO, to the extent I even contemplate hiring a boat to go to the camp to see the officers.

I strongly rebuked them that if an overly-enthusiastic sergeant caused more serious back injuries to my son, they will be held responsible for the lapse and the lack of duty of care.

I put it in simple wordS.. I DO NOT WANT THEM TO SEND MY SON BACK IN A WHEEL-CHAIR.

No point taking legal recourse on this issue and charged them with negligence They just overwhelm you .

All you want is to have your son back in one healthy piece. And that matters.

that's nothing when compared to Mas selamat fiasco. Thousands of police, army, SCDF, etc looking everywhere, high and low for 3 years and found nothing!!!! when in actually he was in JB all along, relaxing in a house enjoying the show and laughing at these people incompetencies. imagine the huge inconveniences to the public, 3-4 hours causeway jams every day and millions in costs to tax payer because some idiot let him escape form the detention center. It took just one limping guy to show how "professional" they are. in a real war I tremble to think how many would be killed (not by the enemy but by their own incompetencies and blunders like in friendly fire)

Since you brought this up, I still have not forgotten about this & that Wrong Cunt Sing!....I have to work in Tuas during that period & go J.B. for business often too...passing KJE, BKE...you can see the police. army.."beating round the bushes"...ha ha ha ha

I tell what is ridiculous and stupidity means. there was 3+ hours traffic jams almost every day for next 3 years. Every body LEAVING singapore woodlands even my old 80 year old father who was incapacipated has to be finger scanned to double sure he is not Mas selamat in disguise and all cars booth and bonnet inspected as if mas selamat was hiding somewhere in the bonnet!!!. I ask an officer why and he told me he has to make sure my late father is not someone else(sarcastically) and he insists my father get down from the car to be finger scanned. My poor dad (who cannot walk by himself like LKY)has to be assisted by us get down from the car to be finger scanned. to add insult at the end of a long wait another officer ask to look into my briefcase after checking the booth and I sarcastically told him my briefcase is too small to hide Mas selamat (as his brain cannot comprehend). that when I realised sinkieland is doomed. even that cunt sing bastard got away scot free and laughing and retiring on his millions. If this had been in Korea or Japan or Europe, the public would have demand he stepped down immediately for such sheer incompetency. at least teh cheang wan have to decency to commit suicide. this guy is just shameless. even after selamat was caught by JB police , he tried to steal the credit by talking c@ck about saying they know all along where he is hiding. Classic statement " He is either in Singapore or not in Singapore" to the press shows what type of caliber you have in garmen... .. I was speechless!!!!!

A few days ago while I was returning from Batam, the ferry was intercepted & stopped at sea by a Spore patrol boat. One of the officers walked up & down the isle then left. He didn't ask any questions or asked to see anyone's passport.

The only time this happened before was when they were looking for that Mas guy & a ferry I was on that was heading "to" Spore was quickly inspected. So I was really surprised that the police got time to waste. This was a boat heading towards Spore & not away.
