Last Saturday, 1 March 2014, a woman shopper had a near miss accident in front of Mustapha Centre and she might have died if a man did not shout at her to look out.
An ah neh, about 25 yrs old, rode a motorised bicycle at high speed in one way street against the flow of traffic. He was not peddling in such crowded street but was on "motorised" speed, silently and fast. The rider might have collided into the woman shopper if she did not stop in her track. The ah neh came from her right while she was looking to her left to cross the road. She had expected vehicles to come from the left in the flow of traffic in that one way street but did not expect the ah neh to charge at her from the right against the flow of traffic.
The SPF talked cock about enhanced police presence in Little India. There was no even a single PO in sight at that time. Why are ah neh so brazen in Little India that they even ignored road safety of pedestrians? The riots of Dec 8 might have led them to become bolder and look down on useless SPF.
