I was woken by rain this morning and checked the NEA site to see if there were any advisories on possible flooding. This was around 0535h and I found the following:
First, it was already raining heavily at 0535h - so, it was off the mark.
Second, what good is a weather warning if it is issued barely 15 mins before the expected event. Indeed, it seemed as if the weatherman woke up, saw that it was raining, and quickly sent out the "warning", just in case he gets screwed left, right and centre again.
Heavy Rain Warning
Issued On: 1 August 2010 - 05:29 LT
Moderate to heavy showers with thunder & gusty winds are expected over many areas of Singapore between 5:45am and 7:30am. PUB says flash floods may occur in low-lying areas in the event of heavy rain.
