Crash on Keppel Viaduct

Maybe cycling at night is safer, hardly any traffic and no chance of being blinded by the sun.

looks like someone in the front of the peloton braked and swerved to avoid a slower cyclist.

From a safety perspective in a large bunch it is best to either hold position in the top 5 to 10 riders or stay 7 to 10 metres behind the last one

Of course if you're strong enough it's even better to ride away from the front.

ride behind another cyclist to reduce what air resistance? you see lah? pih toh kah zor zhua lah :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Stupid bums. Riding solo is a lot safe.
This is not giro d'italia where you need someone in front to provide cover from air resistance by creating a slip stream. Hence bicycle races are in groups or teams. The final sprinter gets cocooned until the last few hundred metres.

Pls stop circulating this video clip because the victim is now in coma after brain surgery.

We had a roast pork at beginning of year from tg pagar crash. We should have something spectacular to close off the year too.

You can hear that the cyclists asked if anybody bleeding. However they did not know that 2 of the cyclists had internal bleeding.

Cars kill more than 100 people annually. If punitive measures are required you should start with drivers.

See for yourself.

I suggest :

1. Annual driving test, eyesight test and physical.

2. $5000 a year for driving license.

3. Speed limit reduced to 40kph max throughout the road network.

4. Max 1000cc petrol engines and the equivalent HP rating for hybrid/electric vehicles.

5. Age cut off of 65 years.

You can have more than 2 cyclists per group, but please stay far away from the downtown area. You can have a convoy of 100 bicycles in the Choa Chu Kang cemetery area, no one cares.

There are more than enough cycling paths islandwide, you don't need to cycle on the roads, or on the Keppel Viaduct.

It's plain common sense, but I guess common sense gets extinguished by vainglorious and narcissistic attempts to 'relive' the Tour de France.
