Netizens complain that crematorium workers who accept angpows face CPIB action while Keppel O&M leaders only faced internal action

Several netizens are complaining about the recent Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) action against several crematorium workers who accepted angpows from mourners.
On Friday, the Chinese daily reported that over 20 workers at crematoriums and private family businesses are in trouble with the authorities and have been called up by the CPIB for investigations.
Some netizens online have compared the CPIB action against these workers to the internal action Keppel leadership faced when their bribery scandal came to light.

These small time Ang pow collectors are nothing. Should focus on the real civil serpents who accept big bribes.

Hello, the CPIB belongs to CAQ lah! It's under the watch of the PMO for what!:biggrin::biggrin:.

WHEN the superefficient CPIB want to investigate Phey Yew Kok, they let him run away to Thailand. 555

The Keppel executives have been investigated and taken to task by an internal board. No miscarriage of justice here. Everything is done open and above board.

The wretched serfs at the crematorium deserve to be hauled to the police station in cuffs for corruption. I had them reported to the authorities because I am fed up with this corrupt practice of 'ang pao' giving.

An overkill imo if charged in court. A stern warning is more than enough.

Look at the big picture. If it wasn’t during CNY, maybe more justification to charge them. Also, did they solicit? Or were they given? Relevant facts to consider. Critically, if not given Ang pows they would not do their job? Madness.
