[COVID-19 Virus] The Sinkies are fucked Thread.

Italy bans tourists from Singapore till Jan 31 next year

Singapore residents will no longer be able to travel to Italy for leisure from Thursday (Dec 16).

The Italian embassy in Singapore said on Wednesday that its Health Ministry has moved Singapore and Brunei onto a list of countries deemed to be of higher risk of Covid-19 infections.

Travellers from countries on the list may enter Italy only for work, health or study reasons, out of absolute urgency or to return to their homes. Tourists, however, are banned.

Exemptions may be granted in specific cases, such as if the tourist is a citizen of a European Union member state or has a partner staying in Italy.

The embassy said that those who are still allowed to enter Italy must self-isolate for 10 days at a declared address.

Travellers from Singapore will still be able to transit through Italy's airports to other destinations, provided they do not exit designated areas within the airports.

These restrictions will stay in place from Thursday till Jan 31 next year.

The embassy did not specify its reasons for changing Singapore's Covid-19 risk classification.

The Straits Times has contacted the embassy on what the new rules mean for travellers set to fly to Italy and for Singaporean tourists who are there now.

ST has also contacted Singapore Airlines (SIA) regarding passengers who have booked flights to Italy.

Singapore began a vaccinated travel lane (VTL) with Italy on Oct 19, restoring two-way quarantine free travel between the two countries. Italy had earlier opened up to Singapore.

As Singapore's VTL with Italy is unilateral, Italy's latest move will not immediately affect quarantine-free entry from the country into the Republic. This means eligible travellers who are currently in Italy will still be able to use the VTL to enter Singapore without having to self-isolate for days.

Their entry will be affected only in the case that Singapore suspends the VTL.

Italy's move to ban Singapore tourists is the most significant setback so far for those looking for quarantine-free travel to countries under the VTL scheme.

No other country on this scheme that allows entry to Singapore travellers has barred them following the emergence of the Covid-19 Omicron variant in late November.

But several have tightened testing requirements, and Australia also introduced a three-day quarantine for all arriving travellers.

It may be a mild strain or common cold for some. For the vulnerable Singaporeans, even after vaccination be it 2 or 3 shots, it's serious illness and deaths. If these vulnerable are your parents and kids, will you sing the same tune?

If you get vaxxed, you are most definitely vulnerable. Even the common cold might do you in. Go ahead and take the third, fourth, fifth shots.

Good to check on those with Omicron- how many are actually sick? :coffee::coffee::coffee:

World's most powderful passport also kena rejected by a 2nd rate european country.....

“All customer-facing restaurant staff, as well as patrons with SafeEntry check-in/out timings that coincided with the time that the cases were at the restaurants, will be issued health risk warnings by MOH,” the ministry said.

“A one-time targeted PCR testing operation will also be conducted for these individuals, whom MOH will contact.

“All visitors to the affected premises are advised to monitor their health closely, and minimise social interactions as far as possible, for 14 days from their date of visit or interaction. They are encouraged to see a doctor immediately if they feel unwell.”

The National Public Health Laboratory is conducting whole genome sequencing for the three cases to confirm the variant, the Health Ministry said.

Those identified as close contacts of the cases will be placed on 10-day quarantine at designated facilities and undergo PCR tests at the start and end of their quarantine.

Kena closed for cleaning...as with MOH protocol ????

Entire restaurant staff are close contacts...so might as well shut down for 10 days when they all must undergo quarantine....

The typical PAP response is to punish the unvaccinated more by banning them from indoor sports facilities ,institutes of higher learning, hotels, hostels and serviced apartments.
In the meantime the vaccinated is free to go around spreading delta, omicron and its combined mutations,
It reminded me of the movies where you see servants being punished for mistakes made by their masters.
The 4% unvac taking on the burden for the 96% vaccinated-truly a mockery and clearly shows they have lost the plot.
In the first place, the people who should be held responsible are those who opened up the airports and allowed the delta and omicron to come in . but instead they are still earning millions and focusing on fixing another political party.

Tan Chuan-Jin, Edwin Tong, Desmond Lee, Grace Fu,, Rahayu Mahzam, and Don Wee-how much is their combined salaries and pension and what are they doing to help locals out of this covid crisis?

Some people like to visit the place where Bruce Lee fought Chuck Norris.

Some people like to visit the majestic football stadiums e.g. San Siro.

Some people like to visit the places where the Godfather was filmed.

Some people are Catholics and for them going to the Vatican City is like visiting Mecca for the Muslims.

Italy doing the right thing to protect its own people health and welfare , rather than some shameless people who goes after money all the time.

There should be a World/International Crimes Against Humanity Court that punish people who sacrifice their own citizens life for monies
