Contributions for Chee's fine passes $10K mark

As of 3 Feb 11, contributions towards Dr Chee Soon Juan's fine stands at $10,870. Donations have been coming in steadily and we want to thank all who have done their part. The effort has been very encouraging.

There is, however, still a shortfall of $9,130 and there are only five days left to 10 Feb 11 before the fine has to be paid. We ask all those who want to see Dr Chee continue to lead the Singapore Democrats in the coming general elections to chip in and contribute to the collection. Thank you for your support.

Is Chee going to jail or not based entirely on the donations? If yes, hope to see the donations reach $19,999 at the end. Chee go prison and $$ donated to Charity.

if SDP collects $20k and distribute angpows of $100 ea, 200 poor & needies folks would benefit. though this is temporary cash relief for them, in a way SDP has kept their words: HELPING THE POOR. the poor might be helped today and come tomorrow, they still remain poor.

similary, if $20k is to help chee off the jail, come tomorrow, chee would entertain publicly and lands in a jail predicament again. the cycle repeats for chee just like the poor & needies remaining in poverty.

if SDP is prudent, they should donate the money to the poor and let chee goes to jail. he is so accustomed to it. one more round doesn't make any different.
