Contractor slashed to death

KUANTAN: A contractor was found dead with slash wounds on his neck at his house in Lorong Sekilau 34 here.

State CID chief Senior Asst Comm T. Narenasagaran said Chan Kin Wai, 45, was believed to be alone at home during the incident which occurred at 7.30am yesterday.

His wife and two children were away.

He said Chan was earlier seen with his worker and two women in the house.

“Initial investigations show that two men had entered the house with a parang and chased out the worker and the two women.

“When the three returned later, they found the front door locked.

“They forced open the door and found Chan lying inside the guest room in a pool of blood,” he added.

SAC Narenasagaran said Chan had died due to serious wounds on his neck.

Four detained over sub-contractor's death in Kuantan

KUANTAN:Police have detained four people, including two women, believed to be prostitutes, to assist investigations into the death of a sub-contractor at Lorong Sekilau 34, Bukit Sekilau here last Thursday.

Pahang Criminal Investigation Department chief SAC T. Narenasagaran said those detained included the 25-year-old man from Felda Lepar Hilir Dua here who found Chan Kin Wai's body.

"The other man, is a 29-year-old from Kampung Masjid, Pekan," he told reporters here.

He said police believed that the victim had obtained the service of the women when one of them stole his money, resulting in her being hit by the victim.

Following which, the woman was believed to have contacted a man, known as "Black", who then arrived and assaulted the victim with a machete, he added.

Police are looking for Mohamad Husin Mat Sib, 25, whose last known address is at 204-17-2, Sri Saujana Condo, Jalan Bandar Dalam, near Sentul, Kuala Lumpur, to assist in investigations. - Bernama
