Large percentage of people already know that all the local media are puppets under their complete control.
The only ones pulling wool over their own eyes are the grassroots leaders and PAP cadres.
And these are people who will never bear bad news to their masters.
PAP MP and Ministers choose to listen to these grassroots leaders and party cadres do so at their own peril.
If they think that feedback from these people are representative of the actual voice from the ground they are naive and complacent.
The PAP is aware that the internet poses a threat to their propaganda machinery.
They are aware that in the internet forums, there are thousands of unhappy Sporeans hitting out at them.
What they are not aware of is that there is a groundswell of silent people who suffer in silence.
A conservative estimate is that there may be hundreds of thousands of people who share the same opinions as all of us here in this forum.
I do not for a single moment think that the 66% are all fools or blind to the grieviences we express here.
I am sure that they are all angry that GST is raised and prices are increased in a recession.
Who in his right mind can accept a raise in electricity tax when oil price is down?
Is it possible that anyone can accept that our ministers earn more than the President of the USA!
I can bet my last dollar that even the PAP MPs themselves are flabbergasted.
What about the man at the Istana who does nothing everyday drawing $3,000,000?
Even civil servants suffer with us. And I'm not talking about the few supergrade ones.
They form the tip of the iceberg that is the civil cervice anyway.
There are various reasons why these people do not participate in forums or voice out.
Most may not know about these forums. Others think it is a waste of time to whine. Still others may not have the time to go online to read, let alone write. A number are of course afraid of repercussions if their identities are traced. There are also those who are just too lazy or apathetic to do so. Then you have the poor who have no access to computers or broadband.
You add all these up and you easily have hundreds of thousands of disgruntled, disappointed, angry and frustrated people.
When there is food on the table and bills get paid, these people will just quietly go about their daily lives.
But this is crunch time! It is going to be a U shaped recession with a very long flat plateau at the bottom of the U! There will be problems bringing food to the tables. Bills are going to be unpaid. Banks will be calling people day and night. People and businesses are going to go bankrupt. All these will take place in the next 12 months or so. Even longer if the recession drags on.
Crunch time! Their children are going hungry. They will lost the roof over their head. People will have nothing to lose anymore. Then there will be chaos and pandemonium in the streets.
Governments in every other country in the world are trying to bring down prices and reducing taxes and fees. Ours is the only one who is not doing so. Whats worse, they are increasing taxes, fees and prices. It is mind boggling how uncaring this government is. They cannot be that stupid or blind.
