SoShiok.com | Tue May 11 2010
Coffeeshop staff got mad after customer complained that his coffee was too diluted.
Singapore. May 12, 2010
A customer's complaint that the coffee was too weak led to an argument that boiled over when the coffeeshop staff making the brew threatened the customer with a knife.
The incident, that happened at Block 126 in Toa Payoh Lorong 1 on May 10, did not turn bloody - thanks to the interference from another customer.
The police took the coffeeshop staff and the customer back to the station for questioning, reported Lianhe Wanbao.
The police spoke to coffeeshop workers and other witnesses.
Apparently, misunderstanding was the cause of the quarrel.
The customer, in his 40s, had ordered a stronger brew but the coffeeshop's brew-master thought he wanted a weak coffee.
A fierce argument broke out between the two men when the customer wanted his coffee to be changed. The brew-master, who is in his 50s, got so mad he took a knife and threatened him.
His friend, who was with him at the table, stepped in and prevented the tense situation from getting dangerous. The police subsequently arrived at the coffeeshop after receiving a tip-off.
The police also talked to other customers to get their version of the incident (below).
