With the introduction of the On-board unit (OBU) to replace the In-Vehicle Unit (IU) on all vehicles, the pap will be able to charge vehicles for road usage. Road pricing will now be more consumption rather than ownership. COE is likely to crash over the next three years. There is really no justification now to pay for COE and road tax. Let us see how pap will try to fleece SG motorists and whether it will do away with road tax.

Next three years shd be interesting yrs for motorists and we will see whether SG motorists will continue to be conned by pap

Hahaha! Nice joke. :biggrin::roflmao:

Why is it justified for pap to charge motorists road tax when it is charging them for road usage via the OBU? It is ignorant singaporeans like you that the pap is bold to continue with its evil ways

they'll get you anyway they can. :devilish:

the only justification they need is you voted them in.

You dummy, profit is the biggest justification!

How long have you been a Sinkie? Are you a newbie when it comes to PAP's style of governance?

It sounds perfectly justified to the pap and its cronies. But it is not justified to Singaporean motorists

You are a dumb singaporean. you must agree whether it is justified or not based on hard facts and not what pap says

for me, what pap says means nothing. i base my judgment on facts and logic

PAP can mustify tgese taxes because people are willing to pay for it.i pity those with young children ss they will need to send kids to school etc.less babies will be the most likely outcome.

Do you agree that road tax shd be abolished when pap taxes road usage via OBU?

Do you agree that car ownership levies and taxes shd be eradicated when PAP taxes road usage totally through OBU?

Singaporeans must think and reason with logic and not just agree with pap's illogic

I did not vote for them. And the pap will be in for a surprise at the next GE

just a couple of points-

1. COE will remain, a premium for comfort/luxury as public transport is well established. Sinkies will suck their thumb and online protests will just be online.

2. PAP in for a surprise, you mean when they get a higher vote count, right? :coffee::coffee::coffee:

Let us be patient and wait for pap's response and Singaporeans' reaction

PAP will perhaps bite the bullet and retain the COE scheme because it is a cash cow. BUt Singaporeans need to vote wisely to punish pap for its arrogance

Public transport is useless to those with small kids and aged parents. This group should be exempted from paying high car taxes.

sorry not you as in specifically you, but the whole of Singapore collectively. my mistake bad english.
Collectively? we can only tell after the next GE. I am cautiously optimistic that PAP will be slapped hard
