Close Call - Did PAP Almost Cause 40 Deaths?

I don't want to sound inhumane ... but in this case, I think the government make the right call!
Think about it, there are 7 billions people in this world fighting for the finite amount of resources and space.
One more or one less (or 40 less) is not going to make a significant difference. Innocence people are dying
everyday in worst circumstances.
Economic and political migrants are last on my priority list of "Must" save situation.
A liberal policy with this regard may burst our already highly stressed infrastructure at the seams!
On the one hand, we are screaming that too many FTs (at least, they earn their keeps)
on the other, we want to reach out to this poor souls who will be an added burden to our
society.
Our navy boys are doing the right things ... provide humanitarian relief where possible and
send them on their way!
Even first world country like Australia does not welcome this class of refugees!

I agree with your observations. The good part is that the AMD may help to alleviate suffering..giving the sick an option..
The bad part abt the pap is it has no heart...did you read abt my experience working with the poor...eg Mdm Koh SH?
That is why it is an obnoxious abnomality to think that a good heart like Dr Lily Neo is part of them.

Dr Lily Neo is a nice and compassionate lady..she wld like to fulfil her obligations and complete her term..Maybe she stays on this year, hoping that she can change the pap from within.
But alas, she must be disappointed. That's why, I suspect, Lily will not stay on in the pap after this term

Lily Neo is neither cadre or anybody important....just an MP....from a GRC no less.
Her tenure is by the grace if the royal familee. She can't do much even if she wanted.
