Chupcheng trying to get his career back on track

i don't understand, if the hawker centres served as a barometer for the incumbent, what led to the void of such entities in the new estates? has the disappearance of the wet market anything to do with this?
Bo lang ai zhor. Super rents, so many regulations, backbreaking hours, thankless work, low income, WTF? Come, let us all move to the virtual internet psychedelic generation. The votes and election themes will be so swing Singapore that I do not think the data gathered on the ground or on the net will make much sense.

Started by 1 man (who is still around) with the magic word called "securitisation" in the 90s. Lazy officers cash in, making proposals on how to do less and yet collect more. Silly politicians buy it (during the booming 1990s). It was part of the property balloon. Now it is hard to deflate.

Well... they can build 1000 hawker centers... but if it is all being run by remotely govt linked company / directly govt linked company / pte companies.... It's still serve no purpose... Since price will then be high.
Hopefully they will open the rental of the stores to citizens and at an affordable rates..... while management of the hawker center comes directly under NEA / HDB or whatever other govt agency... Like the good old days.

Bro, you completely the point. They are back pedaling. They went commercial more than a decade with many of the existing tenants arrangements grandfathered. Now they know the political value of the hawker centre and its back to the old days.

You touched the hotspot. It was indeed the wet market and the outbreak of swine flu, salmonella poisoning in the 90s. In 1999, they legislated Cold Chain for meat and fish and wet markets was so supposed ot go eventually. The hawker centre which was always part of it was to go as well. It was health related.

Motherfuckers all are they. That is why the quality and safety of the food at hawker stalls are going down. Now you wonder why food in Malaysia tests better than Singapore. Is it a cooking issue alone? Of course, not. You worry more if they maintain the prices of food sold when rents go up. Of course you can eat cheap like Chupcheng say. In US, spam and canned food is cheap but it high calorie nothing with a few hundred chemical additives that guarantees you a marriage with medical treatment lifetime long, low productivity and stupidity that rulers love. Simple masturbation over excel sheets on how to fleece the farmers sitting on feudal lord owned land is simple. You can get a sec two kid to do it. They are far cheaper to hire to just run the excel sheets on part time (that is all the time you need) and you can train them to be far smarter in the future. Good food cooked for Singaporeans is a national service of keeping people fed, healthy and happy as well as provide an intangible asset to attract real tourist dollars to Singapore giving Singapore value as an added proposition, something STB is sleeping on. Of course STB on hearing my statement will give me the same bullshit excuse defense line. I heard the same rubbish lines from old hags in MOE who were defending their failed education system which is currently going for a long overdue overhaul. Problem is not the students nor getting the system in place - it is the instructors, ie teachers that need the overhaul or replacement as there were serious problems during the selection and training process.

heheh...

the primary role of an educator is to teach: to teach the student how to learn, unlearn & relearn. to reinforce & nurture the joys of learning.

just take a look at what teachers are doing now, look at their stress levels, look at the attrition rate, then look at how the Ministry frantically tries to replace the posts.

cut away the peripherals and let the teachers do what they need to do best, teach.

Yes, Rajahkumar - primary and secondary school.

More likely schoolmate than classmate. VB took Chinese as a 2nd language. I am quite certain Rajakumar didn't. Therefore the latter would be in a "D" class which hosts the brighter chaps not having Chinese as a 2nd language.

If I am not wrong, VB has a younger brother. Maybe 3-4 years his junior.

Yes. The hawker centre is an excellent barometer for various organisations. After all it was a hawker that led police to Singapore's most wanted man - Ah Huat.

That would be a hawker in a kpt at Sunset, not hawker in hawker centre!!!

Was once told by a friend from IMH that teachers make up the most in terms of % that needed psychiatric consultations. A pity indeed.
