4月21日晚8时许，徐汇区裕德路泰德花苑小区地下车库内，一辆特斯拉轿车突然冒出白烟，进而起火燃烧，有附近车辆也遭遇烧毁。
据小区居民介绍，突发情况发生后，住在小区高层建筑内的居民被紧急疏散。因地下车库散发出刺鼻气味，消防员一度无法进入车库，只能通过朝车库内灌水进行扑救，车库入口也被封闭。
新民晚报全媒体图一段监控画面还原了事发时的情况，停在地下车库内的一辆白色特斯拉轿车先是冒出白烟，很快燃烧起火，火势还殃及周遭停泊的其他车辆。目前，车辆起火原因还不确定。

据澎湃新闻，4月21日20时32分许，上海市徐汇区文定路某小区地下车库发生火灾后，徐汇支队立即调派15辆消防车到场处置。消防力量于20时39分到场，经奋力扑救，火灾于21时18分熄灭。
现场为独立地下二层车库，层面积约1300平方米。起火部位在地下一层，有特斯拉、奥迪、雷克萨斯三辆轿车发生燃烧，其中，一辆特斯拉新能源轿车烧损较严重，另两辆车不同程度烧损。现场无人员伤亡。目前，火灾原因和财产损失正在进一步调查核实之中。
今早，特斯拉官方回应：“在得知这起发生在上海的事故后，昨晚我们第一时间派出团队赶往现场。我们正在积极联络相关部门并配合核实情况。根据目前的信息显示，没有人员伤亡。”
