How about following a simple rule; when you eat in someone's eatery, you don't bring in and consume food that was prepared elsewhere? All eateries, both halal and non-halal, have this rule. Even McDonald's have this rule.

If I owned an eatery and you pulled out your snickers bar to eat, I would mind. Allowing you to eat snacks and desserts bought/prepared elsewhere means I lose the sales for snacks/desserts sold at my place. It's the same if you pulled out your can of coke or mineral water too. I would tell you to put it away, or unceremoniously snatch it from your hand, throw it away, have you physically ejected from the premises and ban you for life from my eatery.
