Not sure if it is legal in M'sia but I do recall friends going in just for that purpose. M'sia boleh.

Not sure legal or not oso........ but the folks there have a firecrackers nite along Danga Bay where they demarcate an area by the beachfront for you to let go the firecrackers. :p

My friends went up to Mersing last year, took a ride to one of the islands and let off the firecrackers. Perhaps it is not legal but in M'sia, the authorities are 'flexible'.
