China braces for future gay epidemic...Women in short supply!

Imagine 24 million Chinese men of marrying age who can't find a woman to wed in China by 2020. Well, it's a reality since the Chinese long-term efforts to abort female fetuses is a major contributing factor, a major study has found.
In a developing country of 1.3 billion, the study by the government-backed Chinese Academy of Social Sciences says, gender imbalance among newborns is the most serious demographic problem facing the country.
Since the early 80's when couples began discovering fetus sex by ultra-sound, and selective abortion began, China's supply of future women has dwindled. Parents, especially rural ones, want a male child who will provide for them in old age.
By the year 2020, there will be an estimated 23 million more men than women at a crucial stage where people in western cultures would be getting married, starting families and building a life together.
Officials fear an upsurge in homosexual activities and have begun educational awareness programs for the looming problem.
