It is not strange that China does all it can to maintain their reign in China by generously spending trillions of dollars for internationals (no wonder Xi Jingpig is called "撒幣", which means scattering money and its pronunciation is equivalent to IDIOT' pronunciation in Chinese) and by violence and scam for inner stability. All for CCP's ruling.

A brief watch of the video seems to indicate that this freight rail could be a monster failure - if what Chris Chappel says is true. Capacity is miniscule and a 1 year volume on rail is 4 days volumn in Shanghai port.

I am surprise Xi could be this bad in planning. He was a Chemical engineer by training and engineers are usually practical. Even I could have asked the correct question and fire the guys who introduced such proposals. Could it be the project had been started long before Xi took over and there is no backtracking.

I cannot comment on One Belt One Road as I know zero about it. But there are many things which I don't believe in nor subscribe to: Einstein's theory, Global warming, etc, etc,... philanthropy .. I will contribute 99% of all my wealth to charity when I die....

About China's financial collapse next year, I doubt. China is a huge economy and there must be clear, specific, exceptional reasons for it to collapse. If China could collapse, so could the whole world including the USA. Dire predictions seldom come to pass - like end-of-the-world.

But there are two things I think China will fail bigtime in:
1) No new gasoline/diesel car by certain dates (the dutch government targeted 2025). It will never work because we don't have the physics and technology yet. It will not work as long as we still need to charge our cell phones every two days.
2) solar power: energy from the sun will never be able to replace our enormous dependency on fossil fuel. I think even if we can recover 100% of solar power, it will still be unworkable because of the huge area of exposure needed.

It really seems the Chinese are "unsmart" in many ways in their thinking.

Xi Jinping likely will never leave office in shame. He is just following the traditions of the CCP.

China already ship millions of tons and billions of dollars of merchandise and energy resources on these rails. But this is not yet the real potential.

After EU beggars all become highly desperate and USA disintegrated - inevitably and not to far from now.
