Clinton in quake-hit Chile to offer support
By Associated Press
March 02, 2010
(AP) -- U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton arrived in earthquake-ravaged Chile on Tuesday to offer the devastated country moral and material support as it recovers from the deadly disaster.

Clinton flew into the capital of Santiago, delivering much-needed satellite communication equipment and a technician. It's a first installment of what she says will be substantial U.S. relief assistance.

US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton arrives at Santiago Airport, Tuesday, March 2, 2010.

Before the weekend quake struck, Clinton had planned a longer stay in Chile, but she will now only spend a few hours there before heading to Brazil. Clinton is in the midst of a weeklong, six-nation tour of Latin America that has taken her already to Uruguay and Argentina.

Her Santiago visit was expected to be confined to the airport and its immediate vicinity. At the airport, she is meeting outgoing Chilean President Michelle Bachelet and President-elect Sebastian Pinera.

Santiago is the second major earthquake zone Clinton has visited in the past two months. Four days after Haiti was hit with a devastating temblor in January, she was on the ground at the Port-au-Prince airport, meeting with Haitian officials and assessing damage with disaster relief experts.

In addition, since she has been secretary of state, Clinton has also been traveling abroad and present in at least three foreign countries -- Honduras, Japan and Pakistan -- when they have been struck by quakes or strong aftershocks.

Earthquake hits Taiwan, no initial reports of damage (2010/03/04 08:34AM)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

TAIPEI, March 4 (Reuters) - An earthquake with a preliminary
magnitude of 6.4 shook Taiwan on Thursday, but there were no
immediate reports of casualties or damage, officials said.
Taiwan uses the Richter scale to measure earthquake intensity. The U.S. Geological Survey put the quake''s magnitude at 6.5.
The epicentre of the quake, which struck at 8:18 am (0018
GMT), was around the southern city of Kaohsiung at a depth of 5
km, the Central Weather Bureau said.
Earthquakes occurfrequently in Taiwan, which lies on a
seismically active stretch of the Pacific basin.
One of Taiwan''s worst-recorded quakes occurred in September
1999. Measuring 7.6, it killed more than 2,400 people and
destroyed or damaged 50,000 buildings.

Dear Postnew,

Thanks for your hard work of acquiring and posting the latest pictures of the Chile Quake...

For all readers out there, anyone heard of HAARP technology?

Do go to the internet website and search for this technology, and decide for yourself what is happening in the world.

Just a speculation on my part...

Chile is one of the world largest producers, SUPPLIERS of COPPER, Cu Ore to China.

We all know that electronics do not work very well without copper wiring.

Likewise, we all know that when COPPER Production is halt, there would be a surge in pricing for COPPER commodities pricing.

Do go and look out for yourselves and see that COPPER Pricing have risen.

http://www.metalmarkets.org.uk/2009/01/23/chile-earthquake-boosts-copper-prices/

http://www.cnbc.com/id/35645419

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/8541640.stm

And we all know that COPPER is an important material for productions of electronics products, etc... this will drive the importation pricing higher for China, and which later translate to a higher pricing in Global Products which have much COPPER in the product.

Whoever caused the earthquake would be already well position, and should have already horded most of the world's supply of COPPER...
