Chiam's wife...

i wonder why some people tend to demand very high standard from opposition but not from the ruling party. Didn't the ruling party have sons, daughter-in-law and nephew in all the financial and critical positions in singapore?

this point had been argued in the above posts with different angles

why condemn the PAP and yet do the very thing you condemn?

Not saying i dun support Mr Chiam...but to hand over his duties to his wife.
Is that the best option?

If we do not want PM Lee hand over his PM to his 2 sons..
surely we don't expect oppositions to do so too.

Abit disappointed with Mr Chiam's decision.

:o :( :o

Not really. The difference is between $5,000,000 per year and perhaps not even $50,000 per year. :) Quite a few zeroes difference.

However, if the SPP wins more seats, I expect Chiam to exclude his wife for he no longer has the excuse of not being able to find candidates. I expect a party with a few seats to have more potentials joining.

Nevertheless, at the end of the day, no one is sure if Mrs Chiam is indeed the successor to PP. We are all guessing.

He is not "handing over" his duties. I believe that she still has to be elected by the other executive members.
It's the same for LHL. He was elected to be an MP by the people in AMK GRC and then elected to be PM by his cabinet colleagues.
If anyone is dissatisfied by LHL, go and question the people in AMK and the people in the cabinet, not LHL.

Moreover if Lina Chiam wins PP seat, then the constituency will have the benefits of
husband and wife team. Where else CST will have nothing to lose if he takes on one GRC,
he feels it may be his best chances of wrestling one GRC for Pappies before he retires.
When he retires, he will be always beside his wife.

I shall only believe it when I see Chiam See Tong actually run for a GRC seat;)
