Unfortunately this is a plethora of small parties (other than SDP which I think can at least fight alone).

Chee siblings and their growing team of 40 (SDP)

Women power Jeannette-Nicole and mostly old hand team of 16 (NSP)

Chiam husband-wife and their loyalists of 14 (SPP)

Ben Pwee and his professional team of 8 (DPP)

Jeyaretnam and his team of 6 (RP)

Desmond and his "alliance" of 4 plus a minority party that doesn't look like a party (SDA)

If they want to form another front besides WP to take on the PAP, there should be at least one less of them around.

Not to worry, this is a good sign. There will likely be co-operation in the end. looks like enough to fill all the seats without giving up on any ward.

It's not that we do not know Chiam's politics has always revolved around the Chiams' name. It's not as if Singaporeans lack an opposition choice - there are other parties to choose from. If SPP was the ruling party, main opposition party or will be fielding 87 candidates, then it is a different story.

3 batches of people who have worked with Chiam, from Ling/Cheo to Sin/Desmond to Ben Pwee/group, did not seem to know that. Perhaps it was a party ambition and not loyalty to Chiams. The new batch appears different and likely to be Chiam loyalists who accept the "family approach" of the Chiams.

1. The party got no other people other than CST
2. It a family runs party
3. CST is a control freak who can't let go of his power.

The future of SPP is as bleak as his health condition.

sad to say, CST n wifey can hv all the best icings n nuts in their cakes, to call the shots, etc.
