Charity should be the responsibility of the gov not the citizens...the gov is pushing away their responsibility of looking after the deprived citizens of this country...

Yes, but if the government don't do it and the citizens don't help and continue to vote for the government, then who pays the price?
Ultimately, it will be the weak, poor, disabled, destitute who pay.
Let's do it on a few fronts. Do your part to help needy AND deserving individuals, pressurize the authorities to do their part and vote out any incumbent MPs who fail to show compassion and take the right action to help the needy.

I don't have a heart of gold, but I agree that we should try and make sure the government and the authorities do, even if it is a manufactured or transplanted one.
