So i'll be travelling to thailand. I was told that if i change my sing currency at bkk aiport i can get better rates than changing it in sg's money changers.

Is this correct?

Never change currency at any airport. Go to a downtown bank.

Not at the airport, but you get slightly better rates if you exchange your currency in any of the shopping mall money exchange.

Yes, this is always true.

But I would suggest that you change at downtown, at a currency exchange called "Super Rich". They have several outlets, two outlets 50 metres into the Soi that is next to Big 'C' Pratunam, or Chidlom BTS for greater convenience.

I guarantee you Super Rich offers the best rates.

Or if you want to exchange amount above 1 million baht, come exchange with me.

If you need to worry about exchange rates, you probably shouldn't travel abroad.

Worrying about exchange rates is for forex traders and foreign investors who deal from tens of thousands to millions to make a few decimals worth worrying over.

If you don't need to and can well afford foreign travel for pleasure, worrying over it is not worth the while. Spoiling a few hundred or thousand dollars worth of vacation with headaches over a few dollars difference in exchange rates.

He is not worried. He just wants the best deal at reasonable convenience. Why would you change at Changi Airport knowing that it's expensive when you know you are going to get a much better deal at Suvarnabhumi Airport, which is on the way ?

You would have done same thing. It's wanting to be streetwise, and not so much worrying over the difference of a few hundred bahts. There is no need to put him down and depict him as penny wise. The statement is uncalled for even if you want to be acknowledged as wiser.

I wasn't trying to put him down. I was trying to elicit a response from someone who changes bahts by the millions. I got it. Thanks. :D

Admit it ! You were trying to put him down, so don't try to wriggle your way out. You would seize every opportunity to show that you're wiser than the rest; just as I would seize every opportunity to expose you. In that sense, you got the perfect response.

The next time if you wish to elicit a response from me, don't trample on others. It's a bad habit that shows low self-esteem. You will get plenty of response from me if you dare reveal details as to why you divorced your wife.

The fact that you did manage to 'elicit a response' from me does note make the contents of my response untrue. So don't even try to 'spin' away from the focus, which is your conduct.

Did you know in advance that you will get a response if you make a statement disparaging others ? Or that you will get a response if you pretend to give advice but in actual fact is to make yourself look good ?

Pardon me, who trampled on others first by boasting million bahts in order to exchange with him? Go listen to Michael Jackson's Man In The Mirror before pointing your finger. For best result, listen to it in front of a mirror.

Did she commit adultery because you were sexually impotent ? It's incompatible with the persona that you've been attempting to establish in cyberspace - handsome and eloquent; wise and magnanimous.

The verdict recorded on decree nisi was irreconciable differences, if you must know. There were no adulteries on both sides, mutually agreed, neither acrimony nor alimony. I'm not a cyber-personality like your persona here. Half the serious forummers here know me personally.

Are you also saying that if you worry about finding the best 'chup chai' rice in HDB estate, then you shouldn't eat at all ?

What a stupid way to boost your self-image ! If you're rich, you're rich. You don't have to trample on another person to make yourself look rich.

It was a harmless question. A genuine question seeking guide on the best rates. And people like you would make 'full use' of another person's genuine question; spin it and make yourself look great.

Pardon me, who trampled on others first by requiring minimum million bahts than exchange with him?

So you used the word 'first' ? Meaning I trampled first; you trampled second ? So you're admitting that you had the intent to trample him, just that you were not the first ?

It's a fact that I exchange million bahts, you twit. I do it with the banks. And I'm not saying that he should not be seeking the best rates if he is not exchanging millions. I wasn't condescending in my reply; if not, I wouldn't have recommended him 'Super Rich'. What was your contribution to his question ?

You can't read properly, and that is why your ex-wife quarreled with you so often.

So it's a fact. As a second, I'm trampling on you, not the threadstarter.

I wouldn't call it a contribution but my opinion has been stated clearly, it's not worth the while hunting all over for a few dollars' difference if it's just a vacation budget.

You don't come bullshit in this forum.

Is there such a thing as irreconciable differences in grounds of divorce ? Now I'm beginning that you were never married but a gay.

Go check with a lawyer or a judge. Now I'm convinced you're somehow somewhat personal against me and not interested in the issue. (I apologise for my early typo though, it should be irreconciliable.)

Yes, it is true that the rates tends to be better at Bkk airport, you can also get better rates (to the bkk airport) if change at those shopping centres.

But in the case of other countries, like the US, or Europe, it would be better if you change it in Singapore, the rates are much better.

most singapore money changers are changing it at 1 sing to 22.9 thai bhat.

I guess bkk should be better.

Frank advice. Change some, like a thousand baht pocket money for on-the-road food and transport convenience. Reach Survanabhumi Airport, don't bother with the money changing counters there (all owned by banks but offer lower rates). Reach Bangkok downtown, then change somemore as much as you need. In downtown, try the money changing counters of travel agencies instead of banks. You'll be offered better rates.

wow how do i find u to change above 1 million baht? How are you able to change so much currency?

Yes you are correct i'm just merely asking around. It's always good to have knowlegde of best exchange rates, best good food, hotels, shopping places in singapore and a few other countries.

Thanks for defending me against that dumb ramseth and his meaningless speculation.
