Cash card theft suspect arrested

SINGAPORE: Police have arrested a 45-year-old man who is believed to be involved in a spate of cases of cash card thefts from motor vehicles.
On March 5 at about 2.30pm, the police received a report of the theft of a cash card at Cashew Terrace.
The victim saw a man getting out from his vehicle and subsequently discovered his cash card missing from the In-vehicle Unit.
On March 19 at about 12.20pm, officers from the Jurong Police Division mounted an ambush and arrested the suspect in the vicinity of Bukit Panjang.
According to preliminary investigations, the suspect is believed to be responsible for a series of similar cases committed in Chua Chu Kang and Bukit Panjang.
The suspect will be charged in court on Wednesday with theft, which carries a maximum jail term of three years, or a fine, or both.
