Got a call from a friend after the incident that she was struck or nearly struck by lightning.
Car was stationary on the PIE when she suddenly see this white flash in front of her and there was a big bang she heard too, sort of like an explosion.
after that, all the indicator lights in the car dashboard came on.....engine light, abs light, etc........
Best part is the car engine is still running and she was able to drive, though she told me the car was not able to go higher than 80km/hour, even though she step on the gas pedal, but was a able to travel on the expressway till she reaches home. Not sure if there is some problem with the car after the strike.
Told me she dare not off the engine at that point, as it just might not start again and it was raining cats and dog this evening.......
I believe it's a near miss rather than the lightning has strike the car, else would have been electrocuted or worse, the car could have exploded......
Does anybody ever encounter this before and question, if lightning does strike a car, will the occupant be electrocuted on the spot, or explosion would have occurred. Forgot to ask if there is any burned mark on the vehicle itself.
Meanwhile told her, she has been one lucky gal.............
