A bomb explosion damaged parts of the building of the Pro Computer and OA limited and caused fire to nearby commercial buildings in Narathiwat’s Sungai Kolok district early Friday morning, Post Today website reported.
A 50-kilogramme home-made bomb hidden inside a pickup truck parked in front of the computer company on Charoen Kate road of Sungai Kolok Municipality went off about 6.15am, the website said.
Four cars and motorcycles parked near the building were also damaged in the explosion.
The company’s owner and other three family members escaped the fire to the building’s roof deck and were caught up there.
Fire fighters were trying to keep the flames under control to make way to move in a hoist to bring the four victims safely down to the ground.
The explosion also cut off all communication systems in the southern border district, the report said.
