He shd take up the offer. It come with these:

1. Access to the press. PS will be taken seriously and press will come to him on issues or opinons and what he says carry weights.

2. Take the new experience and becos he has 10 members make sense. Next GE will never be back to 100% landslide.

3. He can joins in overseas trips wherever PM goes, and meet other countries PM, VVIP, and oppo.

This will give inspiration to his team they can go overseas trip with him, jiakhong lah... nothing wrong go paid by taxpayers.
