PAP cabinet ministers earn $59,760 per month. Meanwhile, the average salary of Singaporeans was $3,000.
This means the PAP minister earns about 20 times what the average Singaporean makes.
However, this is peanuts in comparison to what top ranking ministers like the Prime Minister make per year, which is $115,920, about 38 times the average Singaporean. The president makes $119,520, 40 times more than an average Singaporean.
To add insult to injury, there are the bonuses they receive every year.
Since 2006, cabinet ministers have received a total of at least 100 months’ in bonuses.
From 2006 to 2008, [late] President Nathan received 49 months in bonuses.
Today, despite all the lapses, ministers’ and top civil servants’ bonuses still amount to 7 months annually.
So despite all the failures in public transport and falling behind in digital technology and economic growth, we still continue to pay them astronomically high salaries.
Those who voted PAP all these years really reaped what they sow.
