Cabbie and motorcyclist cheat death in lorry accident
KUALA LUMPUR: A taxi driver and a motorcyclist survived when a container lorry overturned under a flyover at the Jalan Dato’ Onn roundabout yesterday. A road divider prevented the lorry from completely damaging the taxi and the motorcycle during the 11am incident.
Both the 39-year-old taxi driver and 21-year-old motorcyclist had to crawl out from under the wreckage.
They were rushed to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital where they were given outpatient treatment.

City traffic police investigations and prosecution division head Deputy Superintendent Abdullah Roning said the lorry, which was on its way from Jalan Parlimen to Jalan Raja Laut, had become stuck under the flyover.
It was believed that the vehicle overturned when the lorry driver, 44, tried to force the lorry through.
“The driver is now being investigated for reckless driving,” he said, adding that police had recorded statements from both the taxi driver and the motorcyclist.
