</td> </tr> <tr><td colspan="3" class="bodytext_10pt"> Burglars carted away RM400,000 (S$167,000) worth of jewellery after boring a hole in wall and cutting another hole on the side of a safe containing the valuables. Shop manager Roslan Zakaria was shocked to see hole in the wall when he was about to open for business at about 8.30am Sunday. He said after gaining entry, the burglars used an acetylene torch to cut through the safe and grabbed the jewellery from the trays. Police said the robbers gained entrance into the jewellery shop through the grocerywhich also doubles up as a barber shop. Ipoh deputy OCPD Supt Ibrahim Abu Bakar said the break-in was believed to have occurred between midnight and 3am.

Roslan said this was the second time that his shop had been robbed. On Oct 2008 four men armed with pistols held up his workers and escaped with RM500,000 worth of jewellery.
