I honestly don't know that he plays golf, but I only know that he's a very good tennis player and he played his tennis at his home at 2 Jalan Asuhan.

This fellow is very healthy and he will definitely live to above 110.

His business tactics and his gangsterism are 2 separate things lah. I only know about the gangster part.

Another prominent & wealthy family he eliminated was Aw Boon Par's descendants; Aw Cheng Chye (had to commit suicide) & Datuk Lee Chee Shan the owners of Chung Khiaw Bank. In 1972 market rumour was that LKY selected Ah Sai (WCY) to take over Chung Khiaw Bank and thereafter UOB's rise was meteoric.

S'pore banks that got taken over by UOB: Chung Khiaw Bank, Lee Wah Bank (Eu Family), Far Eastern Bank (Ng Quee Lam's family), and OUB was the biggest one of them all.

Today Haw Par Ltd (founded by Aw Boon Haw & Aw Boon Par) a blue chip company listed in SES is owned by UOB or UOL.

Dato Lee Chee Shan's widow (Aw Boon Par's daughter) a very glamorous local socialite ended up living and passed away in a HDB flat in Yishun.

In Singapore if you're rich, don't fight the super-rich and the super-rich should not fight the government.

Technically, 'licensed' money lenders aka Ah Long. is also a bank...LOL.

Bro, he is a big time golfer. But all his golfing kakis one by one die off already. He and Old Fart were inseparable on the golf course. U can ask anyone who knows. I would venture to say at his age, golf is less strenuous then tennis. Maybe he is still playing it if his hips have not given out. We just don't know. But he use to conduct a lot of business on the golf course.

The super rich do not fight the govt. They do not need to. all they do is place a call to someone they know in the govt and the issue is resolve and the govt official involved will hanta kaki long time.

..examples of Gangster part ?

one time when he was feuding with Allan Ng, he used to call Allan's personal number at all times of the night to harass him. Sound like Ah Long to you? How he got Allan's personal number, no one knows. But use to harass him with these phone calls, just like those Ah Long harass people who owe them money. Allan managed to trace the calls to Wee's personal residence. LOL. So, guess who is making the harassing calls? Does this sound like a respected banker or a gangster?

in fact the super rich will need to keep the gov that protects their wealth.

..does anyone remember the rivalry bewween the Teochew-OUB & Hoikkien-UOB ?

Danabalan & the Dogs at Goldman Sachs (??) under the blanket of DBS, tried to hostile byt OUB ?

Cho Yaw put aside decades of animosities,..walked across the road from his office to Ying Chow's,...had tea ??,.. chit chat & the billion$$$ deal was settled om-the-spot ?

is the above narrative, accurate ?

What was the real reason he was wanted by the Philippines Authorities ?

Anyone dare to share some of his other interesting stories ?

The super rich don't need to do that. If the day comes when they cannot get along with the govt or vice versa. They simply move to another country. Their wealth are almost never all in one country. They know that the govt of the day might be helping them accumulate wealth, but the next govt might be taking it away. When they leave their country, they almost certainly have wealth in other countries that they can easily access.

He was wanted by the Philippines Authorities because he was summon to their House of Representatives (Like our Parliament) to explain the deal in which UOB bought Westmount bank. And he never showed up. LOL Smart move, knowing the peenoise, they would have imprisoned him. It was typical shady banking deal between tycoons. One one hand, the family of former Peenoise senator Edgardo Espiritu who owned Westmount, and on the other hand Wee. The minority shareholders were complaining because they were left out of the deal. That;s tough shit, happens all the time. But this time, some minority shareholders either 1) bribed the legislative assembly to investigate 2) Some of the politicians doing the investigating were minority shareholders.

All these families you mentioned are peanuts compared to some of the China and Western Billionaires the Pigs Are Pigs have let in.

Not likely to be beyond 100
SInce he has the financial resources to have the best food and medical care, and probably good genes, he may live till age 100.

uob can’t lose. weeeeeee.
sentosa cove case.

uob loses suit against lippo.

uob wins appeal against lippo.

The bottom line is that the 2 main investors using straws to buy the units were I believe Indonesians. So, if Lippo themselves will not finance these guys and let them use UOB, means the whole business stinks from day one. 2 banking tycoons Mochtar Riady VS Wee CY. Wee with his PAP connections sure to win lah.

I remember this case was a conspiracy involving 2 agents from ERA and Lippo who got stuck with this development.

I was surprised that Ah Sai lost the first round.
