SINGAPORE: Some 1,420 passengers were affected by a service disruption of the Bukit Panjang LRT system on Tuesday.
SMRT, in a statement, said the one hour long disruption was caused by a signaling fault between Phoenix and Bukit Panjang stations at about 9.40am.
About 20 passengers on board an affected train which was delayed between Phoenix and Teck Whye stations were allowed to alight at Teck Whye within 15 minutes.
From 10.05am, announcements were made to all stations and trains to inform passengers about the disruption.
SMRT activated bus bridging services at about 10am for the entire line to serve LRT passengers.
A total of 18 buses were used for the bridging service.
Service resumed at about 10.40am.
SMRT said passengers who are unable to complete their journey can approach any Passenger Service Centre in its 68 MRT stations over the next three days for a refund.
