Is this another straw man argument to show up Sg Smrt's 'merits'?
Compare apples with apples la.....use hk mtr as the benchmark
2015 until end of June (half-year) : loss of NT$ 47.2 billion (about SGD 2 billions)
2015 until end of June (half-year) : loss of NT$ 47.2 billion (about SGD 2 billions)
These bastards KMT dogs should have cut maintenance budget and they'd be okay like SMRT
What does the people who build your trains have anything to do with whether or not ur business makes money?if ur business model sucks and ur business is run by idiots nothing in the world can save it,just like our 13 billion a year army.
Our $13B a year army has kept the peace for the past several decades, unlike countries like Syria, Ukraine, Sudan and even our neighbouring Pinoyland.
Most sinkies and I would say that is money well-spent.
Keep your BS to yourself. $13 bil for 5.5 million people? You gotta be kiddin'. We have the 3rd highest per capita defence spending in the developed world, after the US and Israel. One is a superpower, the other has been at war since its inception. What's our rationale? To invade our peaceful Malay neighbours?
Maybe we are the bastion of hope against islamic rule in the region?
So what? The Shinkansen in Japan is also bleeding, but both the Taiwanese and Japanese transits provide far more reliable service than our MRT: better punctuality, more extensive lines, fewer breakdowns.
What's the point of making huge profits every year like SMRT that go straight into the pockets of executives and shareholders, while neglecting maintenance and causing a breakdown every week?
Of course if you can have profitability with reliability like the HK MTR, then that's the ideal situation. That's why the HK MTR sets the gold std.
