That's a whopping $5bn.
Too much a surplus means you are fxxked.
Too much a deficit means your children are fxxked.

No man. I am prepared to pay the Ministers high pay as long as they agree not to increase taxes to feed the whiners.
You are referring to this present bunch of incompetent and clueless cretins?
Don't twist my words. To put it aptly, 60% of Singaporeans are willing to pay the Ministers high salaries to protect them from those who cannot make it but want the government to tax the productive to feed them.
The cretins are the losers demanding socialist reform. The losers who want to tax the rich to give handouts to the supposed poor.

Singapores FY2012 budget surplus may surprise on the upside, said OCBC Treasury.
"Based on our estimates, the FY12 budget surplus could come in as high as $5b, which if it materializes would be about fourfold of the initial estimated FY12 budget position of $1.27b.

But will LEEgime distribute some of the surplus to help alleviate the financial burden of Singaporeans who need help?
Sound financial management by a prudent government.
I hope that Pinky and his ministars adopt your line of reasoning and follow it up by removing subsidies (healthcare, transport, food, orphanages, NKF, housing) of all kinds with immediate effect.
