Another Budget and ST will be double thicked with all the details and everyone sing praises. In all my years, I have never heard anyone critisized the Budget ( in Official media of course!) Never mind over the course of the year, things often do not work out the way the Fin Min outline beginning of the year. This time round did I hear a squeak of criticism from Gupta? (Careful or his DBS job may be at risk!) But he's right, Heng is underplaying the economic situation at the ground. Whether he's not aware (too much in MOF ivory tower) or he's trying to be optimistic, no one knows. Only way to know is find out end of year how the economy perform, But then it's time again for next Budget, and we start the whole circus again!

Budget give money of course must praise. Where got take ang pao no say thank you one?

Agree with you that Heng is underplaying the economic situation at the ground.

Business is really bad for majority of sinkie SMEs and even the big companies. Most of my employer's business associates have seen their business crashed since late 2014, one has even seen his business crash 70% in 1.5 years. It's not just the local customers that have cut their buying, but far more importantly is that the overseas customers have cut their buying tremendously. Overseas customers have also become more price-conscious, and prices from Sinkieland is expensive.

Don't know why people make such a big deal on the budget when it's the off-Budget measures that's making the bigger impact!

whats wrong with the budget?we have giant massive reserves that would take decades to deplete and a nice maellable population that can be starved and beaten and taxed should we ever find ourselves to be short of money.not to mention we spend less than 1 percent gdp on welfare compared to over 400 billion 30 percent gdp welfare countries like australia,we are a low fat content lean fighting machine.our coolie workforce can take a lot of punishment before it goes down.

You give me "lai see"....I will say thank you of course, that is manners...but this 'lai see' they give comes from the "income" they receive from the people, me inclusive, it is like putting $10 into a red packet ( lai see) & give myself, & say THANK YOU!.

You will notice that the newspapers will 'catch' a few from a certain race, that have a 3rd kids or more & some really useless one depending in handouts..to say that the government is so good & thank you & so forth.....

The taking from you is always greater than the giving......soon, the 'poor' thing will ask for a pay increase & 10% GST....wait & see....so say THANK YOU, "KAM SIA", Terimah Kasi.....& SALAMAT!

By now, we should have learnt to take things we get from the MSM with a pinch of salt. ;)
