Warthog was delivered in 2010 to replace Viking and was designed specifically for use in Afghanistan. A number of protected mobility vehicles have been brought into core; it was decided that the capability required from Warthog could be delivered by other vehicles, therefore Warthog was withdrawn from service in 2015. The Army has a fleet of other protected mobility platforms still in service delivering this capability.

Basically the Ang Mohs bought the Warthog, used it only for Afghanistan, then now are throwing it away. ST junk!

I am not surprised. Human ingenuity in the form of IEDs made in simple workshops have been crippling advanced tanks and armoured vehicles in recent years.

so you admit PAP ST sucks!

Why would it suck when it is profitable and has been faithfully supplying SAF with great weapons?

Great weapons to who? After this dump by the British Army, word will spread that Made In Sinkapore is junk.

It was a stop gap measure as the brits were unable to fulfil the supplies of Viking in short stint. A cheap but effective support role was needed but so be it.

The doctrine of both armed forces are different. BA used the vehicle as frontline patrol vehicle while saf use it support vehicles, ie ambulance, mobile heavy mortar platforms, fuel carrier, ammo carrier, senior officers aircondioned field vehicle aka command post, etc etc...... it never design as a troops carrier. It a heavier and bigger copy of the Swedish Bv206 which saf once operate of hundreds them before putting them to the reserves.

A big slap to the faces of Dr Richard Kwok Wai Onn and Fong Saik Hay but both have since promoted many times .... one is now EVP of STK and CTO while the other is President of a ST Engrg subsidiary
It pays to fuckup and run faster before mistakes catch up with you
