The BBC has reported that the Borders bookshop chain in the UK has started a closing down sale in all of its 45 stores.
The company went into administration on Thursday.
Administrators for the chain have decided trading should continue until a buyer can be found for the entire group.
While the administrators are hoping to sell to someone who wants to buy a going concern, they have warned liquidation may be the eventual outcome.
Were Borders to be totally liquidated 1,150 jobs would be lost.
