Booklet on govt's help with high cost of living sent to houses on Cooling Day

I came to know that a full-coloured booklet on how the government is helping citizens with high cost of living had been hand-delivered to some houses in Moulmein-Kallang GRC on cooling day (see attached photo ).

The booklet contains information on the "Grow and Share package", the help for families in the Budget, the reasons why GST cannot be lowered (it says high-income earners and foreigners pay more GST than others), the reasons why GST cannot be waived for essential items and forming the retail price watch group to tackle profiteering.

The booklet has the logos of Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Trade and Industry and Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts.

I am surprised to learn of this because this seems to be campaigning on Cooling Day. Does anyone know what constitutes campaigning and what are the rules? Can someone highlight this to someone who can bring this matter up and clarify?

I wonder who are the people who have distributed these booklets. One can say this is just disseminating factual information about existing government packages and policies, but wouldn't this information potentially influence votes? Is this allowed on Cooling Day?

You already know their answer. "This is from the government, not PAP" when it comes to campaigning. But on the other hand someone says "I am not apologetic to say the government = PAP".

This is the kind of environment opposition has lived with for the last decades and it should not come as any surprise. You need to leave your hope with mankind, ie. they are able to pass their own judgement.

If Singaporeans cannot see through this and understand the uphill task the Opposition faces in this country, then they deserve a 100% PAP dominated Parliament. But i am hopeful there will be enough wisdom out there.

Don't be silly. Let's take MBT as an example. For a whole year, they gave him a column in the ST. He wrote a book. He used taxpayer money to go round the whole of Singapore with exhibitions on how wonderful HDB is.

Did he manage to convince a large number of people that HDB is "affordable"?

Is one more pamplet going to make a difference?

Singaporeans can count and made up their minds about him a long time ago.

This is called intereference. They have never put out such books before. To do it now still means nothing. If the civil servants feel the civil service have done a great job, fine. I am not attributing it to the political party. It just means Singapore can autopilot without PAP. No party logo on booklet right? So PAP cannot claim credit.
