SINGAPORE: A minor gas leak in the vicinity of Block 618D, Punggol Drive late Thursday night was rectified by the PowerGas Response Team within half an hour of its arriving on the scene.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted about the smell of gas just before midnight Thursday.

SCDF personnel, who were activated to the scene, detected possible traces of gas and immediately cordoned off the area and informed PowerGas.

A spokesperson from PowerGas said its Response Team arrived at 12.30am and repaired the gas distribution pipe by 1am.

The spokesperson added that gas supply to customers was not affected.
