Binh Phuoc: Worker trapped in mixer, arms and legs severed
A male worker was working at a plywood manufacturing company in Hung Long Ward, Chon Thanh City (Binh Phuoc) when he became trapped in a mixer, causing his arms and both legs to be severed, leaving him in critical condition.
On May 25, the Chon Thanh Municipal People’s Committee (Binh Phuoc) confirmed that an industrial accident at a special company recently occurred in the area plywood production (Hung Long Ward, Chon Thanh City) left one person seriously injured.
According to preliminary information, at around 13.00 on May 23, Mr Nguyen Van Luu (38 years old, from Ha Tinh) and a number of workers were working at the company. At that time, Mr. Luu put a bag of flour into the glue mixer. While pouring, suddenly the rotating stirring rod pulled his whole body in, spinning repeatedly.
Seeing this, workers immediately turned off the power, pulled Luu out, and took him to the emergency room with serious injuries. The victim was then transferred to Binh Duong Provincial General Hospital for emergency treatment critical.
According to the victim’s family, Luu is still being treated at Binh Duong Provincial General Hospital due to injuries to his left arm, both legs, scalp and many others.
“Currently the family wants to take Mr Luu to a higher level of treatment, but the doctor said the patient’s health condition is so weak that he cannot be transferred,” said the victim’s brother.
Discuss with PV Young adultMr. Le Khac Dong, Deputy Chairman of the Chon Thanh City People’s Committee, said that after receiving information about the incident, the City People’s Committee directed the Chon Thanh City Police and related units to go to the company to help bring the victim to the emergency room as well as carry out examinations and clarifications so that the treatment by the rules.
“This company has only been operating for about half a month. “Cooperating with the authorities, the company also confirmed that it will cover Mr Luu’s medical expenses,” said Mr Dong.
