No doubts about that, folks not in the constituency would come over to the rallies to listen to what the oppositions have to offer.

I estimate more than 30% of the voters are apolitical and have very little interest in current affairs. If there is no compulsory turnout, such group of voters most likely won't bother to vote .

But since they were force to make a choice, they will most likely vote based on their likings of the candidates as well as local issues. The rapport between voters and the candidates can only be established through interaction either through grassroots activities or retail politics.

Dear Singaporeans,

Look at the sacrifices of the opposition members to go against the odds to fight for the interests of us.

Please stop being selfish and ask others to vote for opposition while you yourself don't.

Even if you are in uniformed service or civil servant, you should be politically-neutral and not biased towards the incumbent. You are still free to vote for any party.
