Big 4 accounting firm offers ridiculously low pay

Big 4 pay has always sucked, someone i know after NS diploma in accounting from NP got offered KPMG 3 months contract 1900 per month

Fuck this big 4 shit.
Companies relating to taxes always go the extreme low when hiring low level position. IRAS is also another one.
They dare to give a jd that at least command $5-6k in the current job market with a $1.9-$2.5k. But they dare not hire themselves and engage agencies to do this dirty job. When there is either no takers or desperado come and go within days and weeks, they up the salary to $3k, still halves of what is expected.

The low pay to filter out the non committed from the passionates.
Once this is completed, and go up in rank, the income will be more than adequate.

You can choose not to join them ... WTF

The standard in SG is the Uptron diploma accredited by Singapore MOM and Employers. Other diploma attained in Sg is for study purposes only.

IF JHK got S$3000 pm via S Pass, his take home salary to Malaysia is RM9000 pm !

This has been the case all along. The reasoning is the big4 provides good work experience for freshies and it doesn't help that most fresh grads prefer to work for them for the much needed experience that they lack.

This is the going rate for coolie gene Sinkie retards. Foreigners are paid so much more. How much do you expect them to pay to retards ?

Why are Singapore workers the unhappiest in Southeast Asia?

Expert cites 'mismatch between job roles and employee skills and aspirations'

Employees in Singapore emerged as the unhappiest workforce in Southeast Asia, driven mostly by inadequate salary and lack of recognition, a new report has revealed.

Nearly one in five Singaporean employees (19%) are unhappy at work, according to the report by Jobstreet and Jobsdb by SEEK, which polled over 5,000 workforce respondents across SEA.

The unhappiness rate in Singapore is higher than the global average of 10% and is also much higher than other countries in the region.

Inadequate salary and benefits are cited by 52% of Singaporean respondents as the main reason for their unhappiness, according to the report. More than a third also cited lack of recognition (36%) and lack of career advancement opportunities

Skills mismatch in Singapore

Meanwhile, the report further found that only 14% of Singaporean employees feel their current job matches their skills and aspirations very or perfectly well.

Lower-wage earners in the city-state are also more likely to say that their current job does not align with their skills and aspirations, according to the report.

This mismatch between job roles and employee skills and aspirations could be connected to the broader challenges faced by Singaporeans in finding a satisfying job," said Jobstreet and Jobsdb by SEEK in its media release.
According to the report, 57% of Singaporeans feel that it is now more challenging to find a job that matches their skills and preferences than they first entered the workforce.

In fact, 53% of Singaporeans said finding the right job is just as hard as looking for the right long-term partner, while 27% say it's much more difficult.
