From the perspective of someone who aspire to be an MP, the objective is not to fight the fire but to prevent the fire from happening. Like Nicole Seah pointed out, maintaining the prices of food in hawker stalls is not the answer. Hawkers are doing business and need to make a profit. Reducing the landlord's rental fees goes a long way to help reduce the price of hawker food.
