In this crucial time to control the spread of Covid, the MOM Minister still does not know how to bend the rules. It is certainly laughable to waste time and manpower to do this silly task:
Migrant workers who gather in large numbers in public may have their work passes revoked if they do not disperse when ordered to by the authorities. The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) said yesterday it would step up inspections on the ground to disperse large gatherings of foreign workers, in particular foreign domestic workers (FDWs).
Seems this Minister is just a pretty face with no brain cells. Just revoke the rules to give an off-duty day on Sunday to every FDW in the country and get their employers to provide fixed monetary compensate instead for staying in-door to work. Playing catch with FDW in their popular haunts is stupid.
It is not a big deal to these FDW to stay indoor to avoid getting infected. Pleasure or safety? Surely they would want to go back home on their own feet and not carried out in coffins.
