Chitchat Being upfront about GST hike shows integrity of Government: DPM Heng

How does one become 'upfront' about imposing a consumption-based tax?

You either have it or you don't. There's a fixed number value assigned to it. It's quite clear cut.

hsk will announce 3k gst vouchers for each sgprean. then General Election in March 2020.

Now Heng is testing mkt. So cm GE if still get 70% or more i guess oppies can close shop!

HSK is Singapore’s hope when Lee Hsien Loong dies or retire or step down

I like this guy because he is upfront with everything. GST hike indeed will help Singaporeans and how I know simply because i can trust him especially when his team was able to prove with statistics as evidence.
I like Heng too. Straight talker. The only issue I have being the inability to review existing expenditures into PA, PMO, military and maintenance of the world wonders built during Loong's reign. Undoubtedly he will face resistance but funding social programs do not always have to involve raising taxes and most would welcome the change in priority.

Nobody likes to be taxed more whether you say it upfront or do it in later after the election.

Is the GST increase necessary ? Are there other revenues that can support all the government programs ? If the economy is not doing well, do we tax the poor who still has to buy necessities to support his own family?

:roflmao:

Love it as stinky chinks are tormented by PAP dictatorship and get their blood sucked out by million ceca virus.

If you really want to show integrity, reduce your salaries by half.

Fat hope....ministers already complained about the last round of cut.

In January 2012 Grace Fu expressed concerns over the planned 36–37% income cuts for ministers, saying that if ministerial pay was further reduced in the future, it would "make it harder for anyone considering political office"

Listen to his reasoning for the GST hike @ 1:30....very convincing.

LPPL...give back GST vouchers also taxpayers money as though from his own pockets.

The pre-election bribery bread crumbs given out is nothing compared to the additional revenue obtained from the GST hike.

Dumb 70% believe this is the act of a benevolent and generous PAPa Santa Claus. :roflmao:

If that cunt's father wasn't the press secretary for LKY, she would be a housewife or office lady today.

Only PAP has the courage to tell the hard tooth, do the right ting. Can't expect oppies to have Singapore best interests can u?

Nothing to do with integrity. It basically not letting the 4th gen leadership face the music of gst increase. If you are unhappy take it on Pm Lee and not PM Heng.
