There seem to be many people who are frustrated, disappointed, unhappy, perhaps even angry in this forum.
With many things, organizations and even people, including the government, the opposition, public transport, uncouth and inconsiderate foreigners, uncouth and inconsiderate locals, spgs, reporters, spg reporters, etc etc.

I'm just wondering what these same people do about it. Legally of course, since most of us would not want to get into trouble with the law or even to get bad publicity and risk losing things or people that mean something to us.

For example, 2 forummers we know are GMS, who has become the secretary general of NSP and plans to contest the next elections, and Mr Leong, who does lots of analysis and writes articles about things he feels should be highlighted to the ordinary Singaporean

What then do the rest of us do, about things that we feel frustrated, disappointed, unhappy or angry about? Other than just venting out in words here..........................

I'll use a second post to tell a story which will perhaps explain the thread's title.

This story is I think from an old Jeffrey Archer novel, but I really can't remember. Hence if anyone can confirm whether it is or it's not, that will be much appreciated.

A guy who supported the conservative party in the UK was telling his friend what he would do when visited by a labour party candidate.
He claimed that he would invite the labour party candidate into his home for a cup of tea and spend time asking him about his political agenda and election platform.
The friend was shocked, since he was a conservative party supporter for many years.
The guy explained that he wanted to waste the time of the labour party candidate, by getting him to say things that he had absolutely no interest in. Hence the candidate would have less time to canvass for votes elsewhere. A cup of tea and a few hours was a small price to pay.
On the other hand, if the conservative party candidate came visiting, he would just tell the candidate that he would give him the vote and send him on his way, so that he could visit more people who were uncertain.

Every country has problems SG has like trashy people and things like floods. Of course there are some things that are unique to Singapore. The big issues with SG are facade of "meritocracy" and the ramifications of "state-run enterprises" as well as its stinginess with social welfare.

Figure out which things affect your livelihood, religion and values you hold true to. For example, if you are a Christian bus driver, you want to worry more about issues about transportation and people having wrong ideas about Christianity.

Don't worry and fret about everything that happens in this world. Try to narrow down and channel some frustration away.

my mp came visiting door-to-door...should i be happy having not seen her for the past 4 years?

well the grassroot fellow came first and my door was opened. he insisted that we should wait for my beloved mp and keep my door open.

I waited until I hear them nearing my door and I slammed my door as they approaches. I guess I send her quickly on her way to get more votes. hehehe..

rain or shine, battled or embattled, rich or poor, yellow or chocolate....

Let's deliver a clear massage to the ruling echelons - thank you, this way please, the door with box above with green lights and white wordings.
