Yes, I was surprised to find this very comprehensive article there, and backed up by facts and graphs. They don't usually do political op-ed pieces. The only weakness with the article is that they keep calling HDB flat dwellers as home ownership. Its not own ownership. Just a long term pre paid rent.

No, its actually worse for the HDB tenants.

Consider this. Lets say you rent a private condo. So, you sign a 12 month lease, and you pay your deposits and pay the rent on the first of every month. Does the Landlord ask you to pay his property taxes? Of course not. But HDB tenants have to pay their landlord's property taxes. Does your landlord ask you to pay for upgrades on his building? Of course not, you are only a tenant with a 12 month rental lease. But HDB flat dwellers have to pay for that. Same too for maintenance fee. Most landlords will include that strata maintenance fee in the rent they charge to you. But a HDB flat dweller has to pay that maintenance fee on a unit that does not belong to them. How fucking stupid is that?

I don't have an issue when people walk into a HDB "Sales Agreement" fully informed with their eyes opened. But how many of them do? They have been fed so many lies by Ministers claiming they are home owners, as well as obfuscation and misleading lies by HDB that they are gong cheebyes already by now.

The Lee and Kwa family have so many ways to make big money illegally, that it boggles the mind. The HDB conveyancing scam is only one component. The other is extorting discounts from developers for new condos like the HPL - Nassim Jade scandal. Also, Old Fart since his early days as PM have been using insider information to make shadow trades on the stock market. why do you think they will not hand over the management of Temasek and GIC to an independent professional fund manager but instead put his daughter in law Whore Jinx to run it? Every time before Temasek and GIC buys a foreign or local company, you can bet that their brokers are using their nominees to buy the stock before the price jack up after the announcement.

Just buy the stock index fund, any stock index fund, and you already getting double digit returns. Shit, you just change your money from SIN to RMB 5 years ago and leave in RMB, you already make more then 1.4% in currency appreciation. The worse part is that WHore Jinx and the Kwa cronies are getting paid millions $ salaries and bonuses to give you 1.4%. Song boh?
