Yes, Aung Sun Su Kyi exudes a picture of serenity and composure and some would say it is the best form of beauty, everlasting. But she was quite a looker in her younger days and smart too (graduated from Oxford).

Not happy being only a deputy director there and reporting to Prof Simon Shorvan, the director, she plotted for his ouster by alleging that he infringed on patients' rights breaching medical ethics. Prof Shorvan was dismissed from his post. And guess what, Lee Wei Ling was appointed as the Director soon after. Prof Shorvan returned to UK and there he referred the allegations by Lee Wei Ling to General Medical Council (GMC). The GMC dismissed all Lee Wei Ling's claims of any infringements of patients' rights. Highly embarrassed by this, LKY through the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) made a desperate attempt to save some face by appealing to UK High Court. The UK High Court dismissed the appeal stating that the SMC had failed to establish had failed to establishand fallen a long way short of establishing- that the [GMC] decision should be quashed. But whatever it is, Lee Wei Ling is currently the director of the institute.

Quite a number that we helped over the years and now back on their feet, earning a decent living (though quite a few need to hold down 2 jobs), children can go to school everyday reasonably fed unlike previously living only on instant noodles. Two families had their children marrying and therefore have extra assistance from extended families. In fact, just the other day, four families got together to give us volunteers a treat, nothing much, just some hawker center fare, but it's the thought that counts. She did not deliberately deface of course. What she did was to totally neglect her appearance, start keeping her hair like a boy's and dressing like a man, and putting on faces that's very unlady like to say the least. It wasn't so much as lost love but more in rebellion against her parents disapproval of the guy she wanted to marry that she became this way. If u ask the experts, they will tell u that suppressed anger and thoughts can affect how a person looks. If u can find her old photos, u will see what I mean. She was quite a cute girl when she was little, and as a teenage pleasantly looking enough though not pretty, and after graduation could still be said to have an average looking face. But all that changed after her romance was ended by her parents
