STOMPer William recently went to Helipad and noticed his bill had been rounded up to the nearest 50 cents. He wonders if this method of rounding up is legal.
The STOMPer writes in his contribution (Oct 12):
"Went to Helipad recently to have a couple of drinks with my girlfriend.
"Ordered our drinks, paid. After which, we ordered a Nachos with dips.
"I paid after scanning through the invoice.
"While i was 'tidying up' my wallet after the night out, I happened to browse through the receipt again.
"Upon taking a closer look, I realised that the actual bill was supposed to be only $14.12!
"But 'clever' Helipad rounded up the bill to $14.50!!!
"What a 'smart' way to generate extra revenue for the company! I wonder if it is legal to do so?"
